HR Forum - Success through Hiring, Retaining and Engaging
Most would agree that having an engaged workforce is a good thing. Most would also agree that an engaged workforce doesn’t “just happen” – rather, creating and maintaining a culture of engagement requires intentional effort on the part of leadership.
Six experts will explore the factors that are known to have the greatest impact on engagement, such as leadership, trust, generational differences, rewards, performance management, and conflict resolution. Practical tips rooted in current theory will be shared to help you gain a better understanding of how to create an engaged workforce.
Why attend? Research has clearly shown that organizations that have a culture of engagement experience superior financial and operational results, and they retain their best employees. In other words, engagement can help give you a competitive advantage in an often difficult economic environment.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Dr. Michael Hann
Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Population and Social Policy
BA (Dordt College); MA (University of Windsor); PhD (University of Toronto)
Dr. Michael Haan studies why immigrants make the location choices they do, and what impact these choices have on both their well-being and that of the communities they join. This research is critical to understanding the relationship between location choice and socio-economic well-being, and to preventing over-urbanization in some parts of Canada and population decline in others. Haan's earlier work focused on housing and immigration, although the focus on inequality and stratification was evident there as well.
