  • About

Lang House Bed and Breakfast is owned by Marian and Bruce Langhus who moved from the oil fields of North Dakota to the Village of Gagetown in the Summer of 2015. For Marian it was a homecoming as she was born in the house when it was a midwife's house. 183 babies were born there and she was number 43!
The bed and breakfast has six guest rooms with each one decorated in a different historical theme. Bruce makes an enjoyable and wholesome breakfast with specialties such as fiddlehead quiche on a potato crust and oatmeal scones with local fruit or berries. Marian makes a multigrain bread served with a black currant jam made locally.
Open year round, Lang House can also serve boarders for extended periods. In the spring of 2017, quarry men working in Hampstead stayed for almost three months.
The location of Lang House is ideal for boaters staying at the Gagetown Marina or sledders if the winter cooperates. Tourists following the Saint John River find the Village of Gagetown a beautiful place to visit historical museums, a craft store, a gallery and gift shop, a ''Treasures'' shop and a choice of three places to eat. Travelers on their way to Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island a haven to stop and stay.
For people searching their ancestry, the Court House and Sir Leonard Tilley Museums are helpful resources. What people don't realize is that our region has many productive farms and orchards. In the fall, families and school children visit the apple orchards near the village. Come for a visit and sample baked goods from two local bakeries at the Apple Tree Market on Front St.!

Lang House BnB in the Village of Gagetown is a destination for quilt enthusiasts, a meeting place for small groups, and a great place to sleep and eat. Built in 1880, the original part of the house was at one time a hospital and birth house. The owner, Marian Langhus, born there (#43 out of #183.) The tin ceiling in the ''birth room'' has no rival in its beauty. The riverboat Captain Harvey Weston spared no expense in its construction. Being on the Gagetown wharf, the BnB offers a spectacular view.
