2025 Chamber College - Cultivating a Neuro-Inclusive Workplace
This Chamber College presentation will guide employers in building and maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment for neurodivergent employees by focusing on three key ares: Recognizing Unique Value, Navigating Social Dynamics, and Adapting Learning and Communication Styles. By implementing these strategies, employers can cultivate an environment where neurodivergent talent thrives, benefiting both the individuals and the organization.
Shawn's bio: Shawn Smith (M.Ed., CCC, LCT) is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity and the proud founder and CEO of
Don’t dis-my-ability® Consultation Services Inc. located in Fredericton, NB, Canada.
As an awarded counsellor, psychotherapist, guest lecturer, and even a national award-winning entrepreneur, Shawn’s impressive career path is fuelled by a powerful drive: advocacy for the neurodiverse.
Shawn is autistic and ADHD, and he has helped hundreds of neurodivergent people accept themselves, set goals, make peace with the past, and move forward authentically and independently.
Shawn does this using combined parent/child psychotherapy and counselling for his younger clients, helping parents understand their kids. For clients a little older, he focuses on building confidence with positive psychology and building on passions.
His goal? To provide neurodiverse people and the people who care for them with the tools they need to build better mental health, better relationships, and brighter futures.
