2020-04-14 - Message from Mayor Mike O'Brien to the Business Community
As our community navigates the COVID-19 situation together, I want to acknowledge and thank the business community of Fredericton. Your businesses are the engine that keeps the city running. I know this is an extremely difficult time for our economy and many of our local businesses.
I want to assure you that all of us at the City of Fredericton understand the enormous impact that this crisis is having on your businesses and your lives. We appreciate the high compliance with the province’s state of emergency declaration and the sacrifices you are making in order to keep your employees and our citizens safe.
As you know, the City’s public-facing services are being delivered at an essential-service level, but rest assured – City Council and staff are behind the scenes working hard not only on dealing with the current crisis, but also looking ahead to the recovery phase. We all want the business community to get back on its feet as soon as possible.
For more information on the City’s activities during the State of Emergency declaration, visit our website and please feel free to reach out to me at any time – we are all in this together.
All of us at the City of Fredericton are looking forward to getting back to some sort of normalcy with a bustling city, filled restaurants and successful businesses. Take care of yourselves.
